After a cleft surgery, a child goes to school, learns a trade, gets a job, raises a family, and becomes a productive member of society. Without this treatment, most children with clefts grow up in isolation and shame.
Since 2000, Smile Train India has provided over 500,000 free, safe and quality surgeries in the country. But our job is far from done. There are hundreds of thousands of untreated cases of clefts in India.
